Polyethyleneimine (PEI) based products are commonly used in water treatment due to their ability to effectively remove contaminants such as heavy metals, organic pollutants, and colloidal particles. PEI is a versatile polymer with a high number of amino groups, which gives it excellent chelating and flocculating properties.
PEI and its derivatives are used as flocculants and coagulants in water treatment processes. They can agglomerate suspended particles into larger clumps (flocs) that can be easily removed from the water during sedimentation or filtration.
